The hopes are to have a new council member appointed at the next Kalona City Council meeting. The person selected will serve the rest of David Bentley’s term, which ends this year. Bentley resigned earlier this month. Mayor Ken Herington says this could be a sort of trial run for someone interested in running for city council in November.
