A handful of residents and an organization will receive awards in Kalona this weekend. The award ceremony is scheduled for 6 Saturday afternoon, during the Kalona Downtown Celebration. The awards are given to those who have made a significant impact on the city, through their leadership or public service.
This year’s nominee’s include Norma Wright, Velma Skola, Dorothy Yotty, and Kathy Spenner. The Iowa Flood Center, and Herman Slabach and his company Slabach Enterprises, will also be recognized.
